The Biggest Medal to Eurasia Marathon
Intercontinental Eurasia Marathon has risen to the world's best marathons "Gold Label" by International Associations of Athletics Federations. Eurasia Marathon, which has run in the silver label for the last three years, entitled to the Gold Label from next year as a result of the successful organization of the 33rd Intercontinental Istanbul Eurasia Marathon. The world's top 16 marathon title of the "Gold Label" was given the Eurasia Marathon as 17th. Thus, Eurasia Marathon ranked among the best 17th Marathon in the world and the best 7th Marathon in Europe. Istanbul selected 2012 European Capital of Sport before; Intercontinental Eurasia Istanbul Marathon is in Gold Category now. Istanbul has added one more to the success by this way. 34th Intercontinental Eurasia Marathon going to start first time in the gold label as one of the best marathons in the world.
IAAF Race Label Events are annual running competitions
are categorised by International Association of Athletics
Federations (IAAF) as being among the foremost competitions of
their type.
Races are diveded in to three categories: Gold, Silver
and Bronze Label Road Races. Furthermore, they are divided into
three types - marathon, half marathon and 10 Km. The best races are
awarded the Gold Label on the basis of criteria by
IAAF:
The criteria for whether a road race receives a Label
designation is based on six general issues: race organisation,
course timing and measurement, media services, quality of
international field of runners, health and safety, and athlete
equality.
