The Fun Run starts at 09:30 am on Sunday, 17th October 2010.

Registration is possible until 23:59 GMT on 30st September 2010.

 Entry Fee

The entry fee for the Marathon;

·         10 TL until 31 August 2010

·         15 TL from 1 September to 30 September 2010 

 ( Exchange rate will be calculated as 1 $ for 1,5 TL, 1 € for 2 TL )

 Time Limit: Time limit is 1 hour for the participants of Fun Run. The participants who are still on the course may continue to run on the sidewalk.

Timing: To the Fun Run participants, one timing chips will be given with bib number. The chip must be tied with the shoelace. Non-chip competitors´ degree can not be measured.

Bib Numbers: One bib number will be given for the each competitors. Bib number, with four safety pin should be held to the uniform’s chest part.

International Arrivals: The nearest airport to the main locations such as the Marathon Office, the Expo and the finish area is Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IATA Code: IST), 25 km to the City center. The Sabiha Gokcen Airport (IATA Code: SAW) on the Asian part of the city is an alternative at a distance of 50 km to the City center. There are shuttle services at both airports provided by the ground handling company HAVAS. It is also possible to book a pick-up service through privately owned www.istanbulairportshuttle.com. Metro operates between the Ataturk Airport and Aksaray, a district close to Sultanahmet. A taxi costs around 15 Euros to Sultanahmet or Taksim, the city center.

Accommodation: Individuals or groups who will participate in the Istanbul Marathon are welcome to ask for assistance with their accommodation from our official travel agent. A range of hotels is available at special rates for our participants and their accompanies. All requests must include the anticipated itinerary and the number of rooms required and must be sent to bilgi@ultraturizm.com.tr by fax to +90 312 466 04 55. Please also see our Contact page to check if there is a travel agent or a tour operator in your country who offers a package for the Istanbul Marathon.

Starts And Finish Areas: The start area distance is 1500 meter to the Bosphorus Bridge’s (Altunizade Bridge below). The Race will be finished in front of the Inonu Stadium in Beşiktaş.

Personal Belongings: Personal belongings may be left in the buses that will take the participants to the start area. Bringing valuables is not recommended. Organization committee is not responsible for lost items. All participants will considered as they have read and confiremed the statement on the registration form.

Finishers´ Medals: The participants will be received a race t-shirt and bib number. Fun Run finishers will be presented a commemorative medal at the finish line.

Limitations Of Organization: The athletes cannot attend to the Fun Run with bicycle, motorcycle, roller skates or any other vehicles. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality organizes different competitions and sports events with such vehicles. Participants must join to organizations with the appropriate sports clothing.

Health Advice: Please, be examined before the race. People who has respiratory tract and heart disease should not participate into Marathon. Please participate into the marathon after you have enough rest. In the race morning have your breakfast early and avoid yourself from the acidic and alcoholic drinks. Please wear socks with your sneakers necessarily. Please leave the race if you have health problems during the race you can also ask for medical assistance from health officers.
